Dr. Becca Pava

Meet Dr. Pava
A Veterinarian with a Passion for Connection and Integrative Care
Dr. Pava joined our hospital family in 2025, bringing with her a compassionate approach to medicine and a deep appreciation for the human-animal bond. Originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Colorado State University in 2016 and spent several years practicing in her hometown before moving to Ottawa with her husband in 2019.
Growing up as an only child surrounded by three dogs and a cat, Dr. Pava found her earliest friendships in her animal companions. That experience shaped her understanding of the special connection between pets and their people and inspired her lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian.
While she focuses her practice on caring for dogs and cats, Dr. Pava’s curiosity for the animal world extends to wildlife—especially giraffes and elephants—a fascination she deepened while studying wildlife management in Kenya and Tanzania.
In 2025, Dr. Pava completed her certification in Veterinary Acupuncture through the Chi Institute, expanding her training in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine. By blending acupuncture, herbal therapy, and food therapy with Western medicine, she takes an integrative approach to promote balance and overall well-being in her patients.
At home, Dr. Pava enjoys a life full of love and laughter with her husband, their two young daughters, and their furry family of two cats and one dog. A proud New Mexican at heart, she never says no to a dish with green chile and loves spending her downtime on the tennis court.
Ask Dr. Becca what is most rewarding, and she’ll tell you: “It’s the trust clients place in me to help their pets live balanced, comfortable lives. I feel privileged to share in their stories and to be part of the love they bring into their families.”
